It was 30 below zero outside and my son just got off the ice. Threw his smelly, sweaty, disgusting equipment right back into his hockey bag and zipped it up. I packed us all into the freezing cold truck rushing to head home to get dinner started. When we got there, we both forgot my equipment in the back of the truck outside. The next day, we were back at the rink for practice. He opened his bag to cold, wet, frozen gear and hated every second putting it on his body. The “smell of hockey” was becoming a problem in our household as my boys started to grow and get smellier themselves!

Many hockey drying inventions went through our house over the years, but the one I remember the most is that giant metal tree, which when not balanced properly, fell onto my brand-new beautiful truck. I knew there had to be a better way. A better way for parents and players everywhere. I started going into creative mode and worked through ideas to revolutionize how we wear hockey equipment. The real inspiration came from a farm I spent time on observing how heated air pushed moisture out of the grain bins in the fall. The wheels were turning. At the same time, I was involved in a heating and hoarding business and I started to put the pieces together.

There were many, many prototypes. Many, many, many prototypes. It was hard work. But I believed that hard work and personal sacrifices would pay off. One of the things that kept me going with this was the notion that I was inspiring my kids, and their friends, to go after the life they wanted. To be inspired. To be creative. And to do what they were truly passionate about.

That brings us today. With a revolutionary product that takes the smell out of the game of hockey and makes it safe for everyone to play by killing career-ending, harmful bacteria. Things we don’t think about when we are on that break away scoring the OT goal.

This is the safe way to play. It’s about time.
